For this week’s Tutorial class, Dr. Fariza gave us all an opportunity to speak up and tell everyone what we have found on the LMS and CMS topic. Hanisah, Dila, Fikri and Iqbal went in front as representatives of the groups and presented their findings. Some of what they have found conflicted with one another but Dr. Fariza managed to clear things off and explained further on LMS and CMS. From what I understood, LMS mainly focuses on the overall administration while CMS focuses on the course management. I still find this topic confusing though. Hopefully, with a little bit more reading, I will be able to understand it better.
Soon after the brief presentation, we were given a short lecture on the CASPER concept. From what I understood, CASPER is the concept that we need to use for an effective slides presentation. CASPER is an abbreviation of Contrast, Alignment, Simplicity, Emphasis and Repetition. We should use the right contrast and alignment so that what we are presenting through our slides are easy to be understood. Our slides presentation should also be as simple as possible because if our slides are too crowded or colourful, it may distract our audience from what we are presenting. We should also emphasise and repeat on the important things so that the audience get what we are presenting. With the use of CASPER concept, a slides presentation will be easy for both the presenter and the audience.
After the short lecture on CASPER, we were given a task by Dr. Fariza. We were asked to prepare a slides presentation through Google Presentation. Our group was given the topic of “The 21st Century Skills”. This presentation is due after the Raya Haji break.
